Widely used for desizing, refining, degreasing.shrinkingwashing, alkali reduction washing ofpolyester blend fabrics such as woolen silk,chiffon, polyester peach skin, pongee, polyester taffeta, memory cloth, nylon, etc.

Grey polyester contains up to 9% size,3.5%oligomers and 1.2% spinning oil. To avoidstains in dyeing and printing the size has toremoved completely,oligomer contentshouldbe below 1% and spinning oil below 0.2%.

Polyester weight reduction or PWR is a process that strongly changes the properties of polyesterfabrics. When exposed to NaOH at temperature over 100°C polyester is beingsaponified whichhas the following effects:

• Filament diameter decreases
• Filament surface becomes irregular
• Hydrophilic groups are created
• Water soluble reaction products are created
